Chicken Soup for the Chiropractic Soul

by Jack Canfield & Mark Victor Hansen

Jack Canfield weaves his magic again, sharing numerous stories about how chiropractic changes life.

This textbook is a well-documented survey of chiropractic principles and practice. It will be of greatest value to chiropractic students and practitioners, and students and practitioners of other healing arts who wish to understand chiropractic.

The publication of Dr. Koch's book marks the 100th anniversary of Chiropactic. This anniversary does not commemorate the invention of a new treatment for disease or pain. Rather it celebrates the discovery of a previously undiscovered principal of life which governs the fine line between health and disease. This timely and significant book explores that life principal. Dr. Koch provides chiropractic care to the remote out-islands of the Bahamas and the Caribbean aboard the world's only yacht-based chiropractic office the Coastal Chiropractor a 44 foot long diesel-powered yacht

Longtime chiropractic promoter and practitioner Rondberg pitches this guidebook to the general public. He tells us about D. D. and B. J. Palmer, father and son, who discovered and built chiropractic, then outlines chiropractic principles and activities. Vertebral subluxation (misalignment of vertebrae), now usually called nerve interference, is, chiropractic maintains, the cause of most human ills. Chiropractors use X rays to identify this problem and correct it by adjustment (often called manipulation by laypersons). The body's innate intelligence is said to be its ruling force, and chiropractors assist its full use. Children, middle-aged, and elderly alike can benefit from chiropractic, which deserves a high place in health care because it concentrates on causes rather than effects or symptoms and is not expensive.

From Candace Chase - Small Press

Rondberg, a chiropractic doctor, has the unique talent of being able to explain medical concepts without resorting to jargon. His book is immensely readable; I especially enjoyed the anecdotes regarding eccentric practitioners, and the tales of their patients who have benefited from treatment. Although chiropractic medicine has been around for a hundred years, its practitioners still must defend their methods against doubting Thomases. There are chapters devoted to comparing chiropractic medicine/surgical techniques. The result is a bravado and defensiveness that detracts from the otherwise down-to-earth information. This book should sell well in health food stores and other venues where people are open to non-traditional medical treatment.
