Chiropractic Maintenance/Wellness Care Study
As health care costs continue to escalate, there is a growing appreciation of the importance of health promotion and disease prevention. Promoting health and improving function, including the body’s ability to resist disease, have always been essential features of chiropractic health care. However, to date, chiropractic has not yet developed a convincing body of scientific evidence to support its health promoting and preventive effects.
Chiropractic maintenance or wellness care is advocated by many chiropractors and accepted enthusiastically by their patients. We would like to collect data from chiropractors who offer such care, following patients over a period of one year, to collect preliminary information on health effects of continued, regular chiropractic care.
If you would like to participate in this Practice-Based Research (PBR) study, please contact Cathy Evans at 913-234-0805 or e-mail ( cathy.evans@cleveland.edu) for more information.
There are no costs to participating doctors or patients. All study costs are provided by the Cleveland Practice-Based Research Program, within the Cleveland Chiropractic Research Center.
The project is scheduled to start in March 2008.
