Please, Please go to see Dr Carrick!!! My son suffered multiple concussions that were undiagnosed by medical Dr’s & was cleared to play hockey 9/11/11 where he suffered his most serious one. He had severe migraines for months, he could not get back to his life let alone his sport. It wasn’t until we went to see Dr Joe Schneider Neurologic Chiropractor in Springfield who trained with Dr Carrick, that we finally saw results. My son is in recovery finally & we are finally sure he will regain his life!!! The medical profession discounts this treatment but the outcomes are what matters here.The ignorance around this is staggering!! I hope you got help.

thanks john I did find a doctor, by the name of amen, he has tests that can show possible parts of the brain that have become less active due to the injury. Its not a fix but after now going on 5 years and having doctors say you will be fine. me and my wife watching myself slowly get worse. I just wish there was a answser for me and other people like me it is no way to live and wish it apon no body. I wish If I had the money I could travel the country and spread the word, and find some help for all of us.

I have had post tramatic concusion now for 4 years, and have yet to find a doctor to help me. ive tried every med out there as well as therapy. I wake up to a brain that is going a million miles per hour, I feel foggy, forgetful, light and sound sensitivity cant sleep, clumsy,presure in the bck of my head. ive been to aprox 20 doctors. I just moved to florida. So im not to far away from doctor carrick, Do you think he could help me?

It does look like the press conference celebration may have been premature. Hockey is a rough sport, and it’s likely Sid may have had repeated trauma over the long term that complicates his situation.

It does not look that S. Crosby is doing so well, and that the treatment was not very effective … He has been out longer than many other hockey players with similar concussions

It is certainly refreshing to hear Dr. Carrick’s explanation about the various interactions between the sensory systems and the brain…certainly a missed component in concussion management. We have been utilizing such techniques for almost 15 years with great success, especially in assessing and treating the vestibular (inner ear) system. As noted in his comments, the brain has a tremendous amount of plasticity with redundancy and the vestibular system is highly retrainable through specific exercises. Unfortunately, the role of the vestibular systsem is often overlooked in concussion management although it is considered the most dynamic sensory balance system we have. I look forward to more discussions around the “rehab” components of concussion management.

My now 13 year old daughter still suffers from PCS headaches and balance issues one full year after a concussion from soccer. Family practice and a local concussion center yielded practically no improvement at all.

I am going to be scrambling to find someone in the Lehigh Valley or North Jersey that may possibly be up on this treatment method.

We are very happy for the success that Sid Crosby has. Chiropractic works and the basics of the underlying philosophy of treating the actual condition especially with objective measures and result based outcomes is wonderful. Medicine will further be advanced when both modern educated medical specialist work symbiotically with chiropractors and their specific specialties. Both could benefit much from each one another.

A great performance by Sid the Kid. Four points on the night, 2 goals, 2 assists. He exploded out of the gate with no apparent ill effects.

Congratulations to Sid for making it back!! I recomend everyone read the sports illustrated article “Getting in the head of Sidney Crosby”. It outlines the whole problem from onset to treatment. It also includes some well placed jabs trying to discredit chiropractic and Dr. Carrick.

The one that stands out most is Dr. Henry Feuer the consulting nuerosurgeon of the colts. Stating he would not refer a patient with Sid’s symptoms to Dr. Carrick because “all he sees is anecdotes,and thats not what we are looking for. The real evidence-based stuff is where medicine is today.” How about results Dr. Feuer? Do those not count?

This type of thinking is what keeps patients from treatment that could fix problems the traditional medical community struggles to deal with. Is this the type of thinking that has Peyton Manning on the sidelines?

I discovered the benefits of chiropractic in a time of need and frustration with traditional western treatments for an injury. I swear by it and I’m so glad it worked for Sidney. I wish more people were better informed about the chiropractic options available to them for all sorts of physical ailments and more MD’s were open minded about the benefits of chiropractors and what they can do in terms of helping to really heal their patients. It’s wonderful. Sidney is back on the ice tonight and just scored a goal in the first 5 minutes of the game!

I performed the First Assist with Professor Carrick on Sidney. It was nothing less then miraculous to watch Professor Carrick create positive neuroplasticity for him. Professor Carrick was very humble in the press conference about the results. They were far better then you would think by listening to the ESPN conference.

Dr. Carrick’s comments during the press conference were fascinating. With the busy happenings in life it is very easy to miss some of the remarkable improvements made within the chiropractic neurology realm. After listening to another chiropractic neurologist last year, I learned only a little bit about the neuroplasticity of the brain and how it allows us the ability to help people heal more completely. I wish Mr. Crosby the best at getting back to playing hockey as soon as he can!
