FDA-Authorized Health Claims
  1. Calcium reduces osteoporosis risk

  2. Sodium increases high blood pressure risk

  3. Dietary fat increases cancer risk

  4. Dietary saturated fat and cholesterol increase coronary heart disease risk

  5. Fiber (fruits, vegetables, grains) reduces cancer risk

  6. Soluble fiber (fruits, vegetables, grains) reduces coronary heart disease risk

  7. Soluble fiber (whole oats, psyllium seed husk) reduces coronary heart disease risk

  8. Folate reduces neural tube birth defect risk

  9. Dietary sugar increases dental cavity risk

  10. Fruits and vegetables reduce cancer risk

  11. Soy protein reduces coronary heart disease risk

  12. Diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods and low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers."
